More social than serious, our run club starts and ends at Paramount Recreation Club with an approx. 8 km circuit through Hyde Park and around the Sydney Opera House.

Today, Rory uses this knowledge in strength and conditioning in tandem with his experience across mobility, yoga and breath to help people live healthier, happier lives through a holistic approach to wellness.

Whether you’re spending more time working from home or getting active outside, you need a really good stretch at least once a week. In this class you will release tension throughout the body to help speed up muscular recovery. We often use foam rollers and trigger point balls in this class, if you don't have these at home a tennis ball or rolled up towel will suffice though we recommend that you invest in these for your home if you can. This class is a great class to compliment our Paramount Workout or Paramount High.

This high intensity class combines HIIT and Tabata-style training methods to leave you feeling on top of the world. You'll use body weight exercises and cross training movements to get a sweat up and get your body moving in new ways. Because we want you walking the next day, we also don't gloss over the important stability-based warm-ups and mobility-based cool-downs.   To do this workout at home you’ll need to download the Zoom app from www.zoom.us onto your computer or mobile phone. You’ll receive a link via email to join the class 10-minutes prior to it commencing. We recommend using a yoga mat for support during the workout if you have one available and if you’d like us to keep an eye on your technique make sure your camera is switched on. The Paramount Bootcamp includes all three of our fitness pillars: movement, strength and conditioning. James Jackson
James is our Managing Trainer, with an extensive background in Strength and Conditioning and personal training expertise. Growing up in a sports-orientated family between Australia and northern England, he learned the fundamental pillars of physical wellbeing from a young age. His passion for achieving his peak fitness goals has seen him play rugby league at a professional level and start his own personal training business in London before joining our brilliant team. Outside of the Rec Club, James is a keen guitarist and live music devotee.

Rory is a rare unicorn of a trainer with a well balanced skill set that is hard to come by in the health and fitness industry. Growing up in Scotland, Rory was drawn towards sports of all kinds and followed this interest into tertiary education where he studied strength and conditioning science.

During his time at University Rory fell in love with understanding the human body and human performance. Today, Rory uses this knowledge in strength and conditioning in tandem with his experience across mobility, yoga and breath to help people live healthier, happier lives through a holistic approach to wellness.

When Rory isn’t teaching our classes you’ll find him listening to podcasts, exploring Sydney and spending time with friends and family.

Rec Club Digital: Paramount High
This high intensity class combines HIIT and Tabata-style training methods to leave you feeling on top of the world. You'll use body weight exercises and cross training movements to get a sweat up and get your body moving in new ways. Because we want you walking the next day, we also don't gloss over the important stability-based warm-ups and mobility-based cool-downs.   To do this workout at home you’ll need to download the Zoom app from www.zoom.us onto your computer or mobile phone. You’ll receive a link via email to join the class 10-minutes prior to it commencing. We recommend using a yoga mat for support during the workout if you have one available and if you’d like us to keep an eye on your technique make sure your camera is switched on. If you have any injuries please let us know in advance by email or phone so we can assist you with relevant adjustments.

Maya is one of our yoga specialists. With extensive expertise in nutritional medicine, natural skin therapy and multiple schools of yoga, she’s passionate about assisting her clients in finding their own version of optimal health. After first discovering the rejuvenating effects of daily yoga practice while working in the corporate sphere, her curiosity brought her to India to undergo formal yoga training. Returning every year to expand her knowledge and be immersed in the country’s unique culture, Maya is somewhat of a globe-trotter, speaking four languages and having lived on five continents.
